This scarce illustrated advertising and disaster souvenir was produced shortly after the devastating Louisville tornado of March 27 1890. The decorative cover device reads Souvenir Tornado May 1890.


Pen drawings were created from photographs and the booklet was printed by John P Morton and Company of Louisville Kentucky.

CONDITION


Good minus antique condition with visible age and handling wear.


The card wrappers show overall toning uneven discoloration scattered soiling moisture or liquid staining surface rubbing edge wear small chips short tears rounded corners shallow creasing and minor paper loss at the lower left corner. Circular stains are visible near portions of the upper edges.


Interior pages have moderate age toning scattered spots minor stains light edge wear slight waviness small corner bends and occasional handling marks. Faint pencil or graphite notations appear on one illustrated page.


The original staples remain visible and the photographed pages appear attached although the binding shows age and some weakness. No tape repairs library stamps large interior tears or removed illustrations are visible in the supplied photographs.
