This piece is called the defender. It’s an original print from 1895. It captures a photograph of the defender which was raced in the 1895 America’s cup for the New York yacht club, which defeated the British Challenger Valkyrie to with the 10th America cup in 1895. this print was captured sailing during the trails off Sandy Hook in New Jersey in Thompsonville New Jersey. This photograph is extremely rare and highly collectible because the defender was broken up into pieces around 1901 shortly after the historical win in 1895 for the America’s cup it’s an excellent shape for its age and all-around condition from being originally from 1895. The wooden frame has no damage. It is behind glass. This photograph has been kept indoors out of harsh conditions and out of direct sunlight it has been hung on a wall and taking excellent care of in a climate controlled room.
