Scarce Antique English Pewter Plate, Burford and Green, London, England, c. 1748 - 1780. This early plate is a well used example from the middle of the eighteenth century. The plate has a single reeded rim with a shallow bowl. The plate has a worn maker\'s mark for \"BURFORD & GREEN\" on the back rim. There is a crown mark that reads, \"I NY POULTRY - LONDON\" There are just the faint outlines to three of the four hallmarks, with the \"B+G\" readable. These marks can be found in \"OLD PEWTER, ITS MAKERS AND MARKS\", PAGE 171, #698.
