Original antique 1905 “The Rose Calendar” folding fan calendar, beautifully printed in Germany.
This elaborate die-cut paper calendar is designed in the form of an opening fan with individual panels featuring richly colored roses against dark backgrounds. Ornate embossed gold-tone borders surround the floral scenes, while the lower portions feature additional pink floral designs.
All 12 months of the 1905 calendar are incorporated across the fan panels. The piece retains its center pivot as well as the decorative cord and tassel shown in the photographs.
Marked “The Rose Calendar” on the left panel and “Printed in Germany” along the lower floral section.
A beautiful example of early 20th-century German chromolithographed paper ephemera with wonderful Art Nouveau/Edwardian styling. Excellent crossover collectible for antique calendar, floral, rose, German lithography and Victorian/Edwardian paper collectors.
Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear including edge and corner wear, small tears/losses, creasing and separation/damage to portions of the ornate die-cut edges. Colors and floral imagery remain vibrant. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition and completeness.
Original 1905 antique calendar, not a reproduction.
