Available is a a very rare and original newspaper front page and sports page that came from September 22, 1908 edition of a Chicago American newspaper. The pages reports news of a crucial, tension-filled doubleheader at the Polo Grounds in New York between the Chicago Cubs and New York Giants.The Cubs swept both games of the day, winning the opener 3-1 and the nightcap 4-3.These victories set the stage for one of the most famously controversial games in baseball history, which took place the very next day on September 23, 1908. The continuing front page story appearing on the sports page shows the standings of the two clubs and photos of managers, John McGraw, and Frank Chance.
Condition
I primarily rely on using multiple listing pictures to show each item\'s condition. Vintage newspaper quality varies with age and how it was produced. Most vintage newspapers are susceptible to chipping and paper loss on the edges. If handled and stored properly, vintage newspapers will last for years.
