Original antique postcard featuring the Hickler House in Sault Ste. Marie (“Soo”), Michigan, with a handwritten date of May 2, 1917 on the front.
The reverse contains a handwritten personal message addressed to Miss Genevieve Rater of Ripley, New York. The writer states that the Hickler House is the hotel where they are staying, describing it as a fine place and mentioning the people, the town, and the canal.
The reverse also features original printed advertising for the Hickler House, describing the hotel as one of the largest and most finely equipped in the Soo, with steam heat, electric lights, telephone and bath facilities.
