Original handwritten letter dated December 8, 1918, from Sherman, New York, accompanied by its original mailing envelope.
The letter was sent to Mrs. Ralph McCutcheon in Ripley, New York, care of Henry Rater, and is signed “Ruby.”
Written shortly after the end of World War I, the letter contains personal correspondence discussing married life, winter weather, school/work, family and everyday life in 1918. The writer congratulates Mrs. McCutcheon on her new life and asks how she is enjoying married life.
The original envelope is included and features a 3-cent George Washington U.S. postage stamp with a Sherman, New York, December 9, 1918 postmark.
