1920s Mother Of Pearl And Silver Custom Tobacco Pipe Tamper Sheffield England For Sale

   Absolutely the finest quality fruit knife out of Sheffield England was repurposed into this gorgeous little tamper.   A study of the hallmarks on the tamp head shows that it was built by the Yates Brothers. I don't know anything about these brothers, but Holy crap did they know how to make a stunningly nice bit of cutlery. 

   All of the stock I find for making tampers is high quality and each has its own charm. But I have to say, this simple and unassuming pipe tool is one of the most beautiful and pleasing things that I have ever held. I'm sorry that the photos will not do justice.
