Issued in England as a vintage tobacco card, this attractive example features a glossy black-and-white MGM portrait of the legendary entertainer. Durante’s unmistakable expression and prominent profile make this one of the more immediately recognizable subjects in the series.
The reverse identifies Durante as an MGM star and provides a wonderful period biography tracing his career from pianist and Coney Island entertainer to vaudeville and motion-picture performer.
