I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover with free ship. This original Paul Gauguin fabric from the 1940\'s has his beloved work of a famous 1891 painting \"Women of Tahiti on the Beach\". Enamored by the environment and people of the islands and their separation from European cultural and aesthetic attitudes, Gauguin portrays two figures shrouded in the mystery and symbolism of Tahiti\'s paradise. It was a feather in the cap of any artist who\'s works would be printed on cotton after their death. This unused rare embodiment of Polynesia from a French artist perspective is beyond unbelievably rare. I\'ve paired it with a creamy aqua turquoise piping and a crisp white backside that really elevates the level of sophistication of this beauty. It measures 21 \" x 23\" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. Some people hang Gauguin\'s works of art on walls as paintings and lithographs...others prefer to cuddle with his works. I have two available sold individually.
