1940s Halloween Beistle Smiling Black Cat Double-Sided Candle Lantern Basket-Wire Hanger
Early 1940's identical dual-sided black cat face lantern. Cardboard construction. Light tissue paper inserts behind eyes and smile. Dual-sided with identical imagery. There is some minor damage but it's very hard to see when it is lit up. Photos with light in the photos used a small flashlight to illuminate.
In very good vintage condition. These are extremely rare. Original wire bale handle. Fold down cardboard crossbar candleholder at base. No wax or wax residue. Looks like this was not used as a candle holder. No tape or tape residue. Bends and minor tearing to ears. The inserts are a tissue paper and have several tears. No paper loss but each side has an eye with a tear. Minor edge wear. No pinholes other than from the original staples. Brilliant and vibrant orange coloring. This stores flat when the bottom is pushed back up. Measures approximately 13 inches across from ear to ear and 8.5 inches tall.
