A posted 1943 postcard featuring “A Kentucky Welcome,” a poem credited to G. Allison Holland. Color scenes above and below the poem show a horse-drawn carriage and a shepherd with sheep. The front is numbered V259.
The reverse has a handwritten message signed “Mary,” a Louisville, Kentucky postmark dated August 5, 1943, a one-cent Industry–Agriculture for Defense stamp, and a “Buy War Savings Bonds and Stamps” cancellation. The message mentions soldiers, adding a personal wartime detail. The card is marked The Kyle Co., Louisville, Ky.
Condition: Posted vintage condition with light corner and edge wear and minor age discoloration. Writing, stamp, and cancellations remain on the back. Please review both photos for the exact condition.
