Envelope is postmarked November 21, 1943 and bears Johnny's military return information, APO 25, handwritten “FREE” military-mail notation, and a U.S. Army Examiner censorship marking.
The charming “Best Wishes” card has an unusual dimensional design with applied felt flowers and leaves, colorful artwork, and a small translucent/fabric window element. Inside is printed “Remembrance and Hearty Good Wishes” with Johnny's handwritten Christmas and New Year greeting.
An appealing piece of WWII-era personal correspondence combining military postal history with a wonderfully preserved wartime holiday greeting.
