Some experts identify this airplane-shaped hood ornament as having belonged to the Lincoln Continental model. As a collector, I cannot say for certain, but I am sure that it is an exceptional, highly decorative, and beautiful piece—the kind that would grace one of the great American cars of the 1950s or 1960s.It depicts an airplane with wingtips that curve downwards. It is fully chrome-plated and remarkably solid and heavy; it appears to be made of solid bronze. It comes with a base that was likely adapted for a specific vehicle, but this can easily be removed and the ornament mounted on another hood with a different curvature.The airplane measures approximately 38 x 17 x 6 cm. The base measures approximately 36 x 6 x 4 cm.It is in good condition; while there is some minor loss of chrome in places, overall it looks excellent and retains a brilliant shine.
