Up for sale is an original vintage theatre programme for the 1958 Players\' Theatre Production of \"King Charming\" at the historic Lyric Opera House, Hammersmith. This festive production of J. R. Planché\'s Victorian fairy extravaganza was adapted by Gordon Snell and directed by Don Gemmell, followed by a traditional 19th-century style Harlequinade.The booklet functions as a fantastic window into the 1950s London theater scene. Along with comprehensive cast lists, biographies, a breakdown of scenes, and a historical feature on Victorian pantomime, it includes charm-filled vintage advertisements of the era for classic brands such as Huntley & Palmers Cakes, Schweppes, Double Diamond beer, Newman’s Chocolates, and the Clarendon Restaurant.Condition Report:
The programme is in good, complete vintage condition. The decorative patterned red cover shows standard minor wear at the corners and a small handwritten date (\"Dec 1958\") neatly inked at the top right of the front cover.
