Original Vintage 1962 Le Château Frontenac Restaurant Menu Fairmont Hotel 1 Rue des Carrières Quebec Canada
The Château Frontenac opened in 1893, one of the grand hotels the Canadian Pacific Railway built to promote rail travel, designed by architect Bruce Price and named for Louis de Buade, Comte de Frontenac, a governor of New France. Overlooking the St. Lawrence, it was closely tied to the Allied Quebec Conferences of 1943 and 1944, which brought Churchill, Roosevelt and Mackenzie King to the city. It was still a Canadian Pacific Railway hotel when this 1962 menu was used and was renamed Fairmont Le Château Frontenac only in 2001.
