1966 Topps Superman #7 “The Man of Steel” – PSA 9 MINT
This is a classic from the 1966 Topps Superman set, which used black-and-white stills from the beloved Adventures of Superman TV series starring George Reeves. Released in the same year as Batmania, the set captured America’s two greatest superheroes on cardboard at the height of the 1960s superhero craze.
The card lives up to its title: a gunman fires point-blank at Superman’s chest, and the bullets prove useless against the Man of Steel. It’s one of the most famous scenes from the show, and the bold vertical “THE MAN OF STEEL” caption makes it one of the strongest images in the set.
PSA MINT 9 is a premium grade for this issue. The 1966 Superman cards are condition-sensitive, and Mint examples are a small fraction of the copies graded. Please review the PSA grade and the high-resolution photos as the best guide to condition.
It’s a cornerstone card for collectors of Superman, vintage DC memorabilia, classic TV, or 1960s non-sport sets, and a natural companion to 1966 Batman.
