Original Vintage 1970s Hotel dei Cavalieri Milano Duomo Restaurant Menu Aloschi Bros Naples Napoli Alitalia Italy
The Hotel dei Cavalieri occupies a wedge-shaped eleven-storey block on Piazza Missori, a short walk from Milan\'s Duomo, completed in 1949 to a design by Emilio Lancia with the participation of Gio Ponti; its convex facade is patterned with Venetian diamond-cut reliefs. The same building housed the Cinema Missori, an elegant 1,550-seat first-run house that opened with it in 1949 and staged the world premiere of Vittorio De Sica\'s Miracolo a Milano in February 1951; the cinema\'s programming slipped through the 1970s and it closed in 1980, its hall taken over by a bank. The hotel has stayed in business on the same corner, its lobby, lounges and rooftop restaurant rebuilt in a renovation launched in 2019.
