A remarkable surviving piece of Superman movie history!
Original vintage 1978 Warner Bros. promotional cardboard phone booth display featuring Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent revealing his Superman costume.
This large, multi-piece display includes connected folding cardboard sections designed to create a three-dimensional telephone booth. Features colorful Christopher Reeve artwork, Warner Bros. Records branding, and original 1978 DC Comics copyright panels measure approximately 31.5" tall × 21" wide.
Four-panel sections fold into an approximately 21" × 21" square.
Approximate height when the two main sections are combined: 63", excluding any additional components.
Condition & Collection History:
This item was discovered as part of a large collection of vintage movie posters, promotional displays, and entertainment memorabilia that had been in long-term storage.
Unfortunately, this collection was not always stored under ideal conditions, and many of these historic pieces show evidence of age and improper storage.
This Superman display is no exception.
There is visible water staining, discoloration, edge wear, surface scratching, creasing, corner damage and deterioration along some cardboard seams and assembly areas. Some of these imperfections may be less noticeable once the display is assembled.
Despite its condition, the original printed Superman artwork remains colorful, recognizable and visually appealing.
Please note: The display has not been fully assembled or tested for structural stability. Only the components pictured are included. Additional original promotional components may be missing.
We have chosen to preserve this piece in its found condition rather than attempt repairs or restoration.
A Little About This Collection:
Our hope is to find new homes for these vintage treasures with collectors who appreciate their history and character.
This piece has survived nearly five decades. While it may no longer be perfect, it represents an era of movie promotion that has largely disappeared.
We would love to see it find a good home with someone who can appreciate, preserve and perhaps carefully restore this wonderful piece of Superman history.
