Gilbert Boese, director of the Milwaukee County Zoo, and his wife Wilma, rode Khun-Chorn the elephant during a charity ball at the Zoo. Lynn and Robert Di Ullo took photos of a green-winged macaw named Harold while Al Wright got into the spirit of the evening and danced with an African dance troupe that entertained at the party. The Zoological Society of the Milwaukee County sponsored the party, the largest summer social event in years. Proceeds from the event will go toward building an outdoor exhibit and living area for the Zoo's four great apes. Photo measures 9.5 x 5 inches. Photo is dated 07-02-1984. PHOTO FRONT
