2 Flown Gemini 4 Items From Early Rocket Tech + Rare Mercury Patch:
$428.00
It is a lightweight washer or spacer of some sort. The patch is my favorite of all the space patches. It is not an official NASA patch but it is beautiful and both Techs had one in with their stuff. Crew Patches lists it as rare. Some experts attribute it to a local Boy Scout group who designed it. Either way it’s beautiful. . I will provide the Technician’s name to the winner. He is prominently featured working on spacecraft in many NASA photos. He actually won an award for his work on a possible Apollo 11 issue with the spacesuits in I recall. The spacers flew in space on Gemini 4, during which astronauts demonstrated the techniques required to meet President John F. Kennedy’s goal to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to the Earth before the end of the decade. After a stint in the Marines in WW2 our rocket mechanic went to school to learn about jet engines and other flight mechanics hoping to make a career for himself. He participated in Mercury, Gemini and Apollo along with Apollo Soyuz. . These are a few of his mementos. Some of the exact same items previously sold through Heritage Space sales .
