2 VTG 1970s JOY MANUFACTURING COMPANY PROMOTIONAL BELT BUCKLE Brass & Pewter For Sale

2 Vintage (1970s)  Joy Manufacturing Company promotional belt buckles, 1 is used and Solid Brass the other is new in package Pewter.  Both are marked RJ on backside (Google tells me this manufacturer is R. Jorgenson out of Phoenix, AZ).  Both Feature a bold, raised "JOY" block lettering spanning horizontally across the center, with a Background Detailed engraving of a global longitude and latitude grid pattern, symbolizing the international reach of the equipment company.  A traditional solid oval shape measuring approximately 3.25" wide x 2" tall  Both Feature a standard, durable brass or pewter loop and pin attachment on the reverse side designed to fit a standard 1.5-to-1.75-inch snap-on belt strap.  These were Distributed in the 1970s as a promotional item or employee safety award for the Joy Manufacturing Company (later rebranded as Joy Global, now a subsidiary of Komatsu).   Joy was an absolute giant in the mid-to-late 20th century for underground continuous miners, shuttle cars, and heavy coal mining machinery, making this buckle a prized piece of historical Americana among coal mining collectors.
