Two original vintage children’s scrapbooks, believed to date from approximately the 1950s to early 1960s.
One has an illustrated “Jolly Mac Scrap Book” cover, while the second has a maroon cover decorated with colourful theatrical and children’s scraps.
Both albums contain a large and varied collection of original period material pasted onto coloured pages, including:
• Colourful die-cut paper scraps
• Children, animals and comic characters
• Vintage advertising and product packaging
• Food, drink, household and cosmetic items
• Christmas and greetings-card illustrations
• Fashion, toys, transport and humorous images
• Small labels, printed pictures and magazine cuttings
Many pages are filled or partly filled, although there are also some blank and sparsely decorated pages. The contents appear to have been collected and arranged over a period of time.
Both albums are in well-used vintage condition with considerable age-related wear. This includes worn and damaged covers, staining and marking, creases, edge tears, old tape repairs, weakened bindings, loose or partially detached pages, browning and occasional lifting or missing scraps.
They are being sold intact exactly as found and have not been dismantled.
