Offered here are two silver dishes from a “Twelve Tribes of Israel” (Shivtei Yisrael) series — a classic piece of Israeli Judaica. Each dish depicts one of the twelve tribes by its traditional Biblical emblem, framed by a beaded/gadrooned border, with the tribe’s name in Hebrew around the field:
• ZEBULUN — depicted by a sailing ship, the emblem of the seafaring tribe (Genesis 49:13, “Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea”). Hebrew: זבולון
• NAPHTALI — depicted by a deer/doe (gazelle), from Jacob’s blessing “Naphtali is a hind let loose” (Genesis 49:21). Hebrew: נפתלי
MARKS: Both dishes are hallmarked on the reverse “IK” (maker’s mark) and “830” (.830 silver / 83% pure). See photos of the marks.
MATERIAL: .830 silver (hallmarked). Note this is a Continental/European silver standard, slightly below sterling (.925).
SIZE: 3" diameter and about 1/2" tall
WEIGHT: The two dishes together weigh 1.03 oz (approx. 29.2 grams).
CONDITION: New . These make a wonderful gift or a start toward completing the full twelve-tribe set.
