6 DUTCH CHILDREN Christmas Antique Postcards. Classic Style. 1 Artist Signed: Cobb Shinn
This is a nice selection of CHRISTMAS postcards showing DUTCH CHILDREN that would have been sent for BEST WISHES and FRIENDSHIP. The postcards have the classic look, and are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s.
These postcards have a nice seasonal feel, and are good postcards to add to a collection. A few of the postcards are drawn in color, and there are a couple that have the Pen & Ink Style. They are Flat Printed and two have GOLD TRIM in the design. They show children in different scenes. The wording and messages on these are in the typical phonetic Dutch/German style. They come from different publishers. The postcard with the boy carrying a gift package is ARTIST SIGNED by Cobb Shinn.
Conrad (Cobb) X. Shinn (1887-1951), was born in Fillmore, IN and published cartoon postcards. He became the most prolific of the postcard artists during World War I. His humorous and ironic turn of mind was his signature item. He published for Ford Motor, Charlie Chaplin, and other well-known entities. He volunteered for the army and got assigned to a unit that made camouflage cloth to confuse enemy air strikes. He later published “How to draw Cartoon” books. His work is sought after by collectors.
This is a nice selection of Dutch Children for the collector, and would be good to put into a collection. The postcards are detailed and pleasing to look at. Overall, a niceselection of Dutch Children CHRISTMAS antique postcards at a reasonable price!
The postcards are UNPOSTED (2) and POSTED (4) with cancel dates in the 1912-15 era. These would have been most likely "Made in USA" during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915). They have DIVIDED backs.
These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning and edge wear due to their age (some of these are over 100 years old!).The photos show the postcards and the backs.

USA shipping is with tracking, and we use Standard Envelopemail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS First Class mail when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz.Wecombine shippingwhenever possible. If you purchase multiple lots, you can wait and we will send you an invoice for the combined shipping before you pay.
