The science museum in London has a hemispherical sundial dated 1862 from them. A Meissner appears in the official German collective catalog for the 1900 Paris exposition universelle, the actual exhibition entry is fascinating. It lists Amessier under surveying mining and travel instruments. It was a firm capable of serious scientific instrumentation.
These glasses date approximately to 1885 the fitted case carrying the ornate gold label, belongs perfectly within that documented period.
