Very Good! - Circa 1930Ideal gift for special occasions or collectors. Beautiful design.Very good general condition.No breaks or chips, no lines, no fisures. It only shows slight and natural wear on the gold plating due to its age.Suitable for displaying on any furniture. This jar was inherited from a relative. No original packaging.
This object is an Art Deco vase or container made of black (hyalite) glass, hand-painted with gold, designed by the renowned artist Paul Heller for the prominent Belgian manufacturer Boom Glass Company (also known as Verreries de Rupel) around the 1930s.
Piece Details
Material: Textured glossy black glass with concentric gold bands and intricate geometric medallions engraved in gold.
Design: It features a perforated brass/bronze-tone metal lid, originally intended to hold potpourri or aromatic substances, allowing the fragrance to escape through its holes.
Slight wear to the gold plating is completely normal and expected for a hand-painted glass piece that is nearly a century old.
This exquisite piece features a glossy black body embellished with hand-painted gold bands and geometric Art Deco medallions. It comes complete with its original perforated brass/bronze-tone metal lid, which was designed to allow the scent of potpourri to escape. Pieces with their original lids intact are highly collectible and difficult to find.
