Magnificent representation of old French culture and history. A hand made piece with intricate and decadent pattern on the wood. It features red velvet lining, antique French brass hinges and has an ornate closure with subtle fleur-de-lis motif surrounding a majestic gold wreath.Versatile and practical. This French treasure can used as a decorative piece, jewelry and keepsake box or to hold cigarettes. Large in size: 8.25\" x 8.25\" x 1.75\". It opens to 16.50\" total length.The exterior burl wood is in very good condition with light wear and a couple of scratches that blend into the pattern. Light patina can be seen on the brass hardware, which is appropriate to the age of the piece. The velvet interior is in very good condition with a couple of small marks.The burl wood is beautiful in the sunlight.
