GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As indicated above, this is the hard-to-find QUART HARDEN’S STAR with the tall, tooled-lip neck and patent date on the base. The usual Hardens have a short neck and ground, burst tops, often with chips, and a plain base. This top is of a wide funnel-shape, having hand-tooled edges.
The color of the Hardens Qt. in this mold is almost always found in AMBER. This example is in a RARE pale, greenish-aqua! It measures 8” High and is 5-1/4” Wide at the center band. All the embossed lettering is clearly shown in the pictures, including the verboten word GR- - ADE.
CONDITION
This fire extinguished is absolutely MINT! Not a scratch on it! There is NO chipping, cracks or staining. It is EMPTY. Part of the original cork remains in the neck; the mortar plug is long gone and no residue remains.
