First editions (all four volumes) of the first trade edition (1939) of Abraham Lincoln: The War Years, which follows the limited signed edition issued the same year. This is poet Carl Sandburg's magisterial work on Lincoln's presidency, the wrenching defeats and hard-won successes of the Civil War, his heroic attempts to gain passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, and his assassination.
All four books are in excellent, near Fine condition. The dust jackets issued with the set have a few rough spots, as shown in the photos, but no major flaws. While a relatively common set, this work is now a bit tough to find with the originally issued jackets.
I am selling the set at a fraction of what others are charging (compare with comparable examples on ViaLibri).
I pack books well--and this is a particularly heavy set (12 pounds).
