African Antique Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Baule Style Woman From Ivory Coast For Sale

This is one of three antique/vintage pieces of African tribal art collected by a friend’s father during trips he made in the 1970s-80s. Based on some research, this appears to be a Baule-style woman from the Ivory Coast, possibly a spirit spouse. She has elaborate hair, her deeply grooved hair and long braid are particularly striking. She has scarification, with visible marks from hand tooling. She is likely mid 20th c, 1950-1970, and stands 19” tall. If you are interested please check my shop for the other two. I am always happy to combine lots to save postage cost.
