Original Amazing Spider-Man #42, published by Marvel Comics in 1966.

This is a major early Spider-Man collectible because Mary Jane Watson’s face is revealed for the first time on the final page, following earlier appearances in which Marvel intentionally kept her face obscured. The issue also contains the second appearance of the Rhino. Heritage identifies both of these as the major collector points for ASM #42.

The issue features the story “The Birth of a Super-Hero!”, with story and cover credits including Stan Lee and John Romita Sr.

It is also the issue associated with Mary Jane’s famous introduction to Peter Parker — one of the best-known moments in Spider-Man history.
