Ames Civil War Model 1840 NCO Sword Saber w/Scabbard - Dated 1864 For Sale

US Civil War Model 1840 NCO Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked \"Made by\", \"Ames Mfg. Co.\", \"Chicopee\", and on the reverse \"US\", \"A.D.K.\", \"1864\". The side of the knuckleguard has \"G.K.C.\". The grip and guard are tight. The blade is straight, unsharpened, a few minor nicks, and has age spots with some surface rust scattered throughout. The scabbard has tight stitching, crazing, some surface leather loss, there is a weak spot in the center that has almost torn all the way around, and both drag rivets are gone. Length of the blade is 32 1/8\" (7/8\" wide and 5/16\" thick), the sword is 38 5/8\", and in the scabbard it is 39 5/8\".
