Offered here for your consideration is an antique Derby Bisquit Porcelain Figurine of two Bacchantes Adorning Pan.It dates to circa 1780.
It is in overall fair, as-pictured used estate condition withnoticeable reglues, repairs and losses. There are also somefine and light surface scratches throughout and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
A similar group is held in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, which identifies that this group was modeled by Pierre Stephan from an engraving by William Wynne Ryland after a painting by Angelica Kauffmann.
The base bears an incised N 196.
