Original antique National Police Gazette newspaper ephemera titled “A Woman’s Duel.” This dramatic late-19th-century newspaper clipping depicts two fashionably dressed women engaged in combat, described in the printed caption as rival sweethearts fighting over the same man.
The clipping is displayed in an antique brown wooden frame. It shows expected age-related toning, faint creasing, discoloration and wear consistent with authentic period paper. The caption beneath the illustration is partially cut off or obscured. The wooden frame also displays age-related wear and patina.
A wonderfully unusual piece of Victorian printed ephemera and a memorable conversation piece for collectors of antique newspapers, women’s history, historical oddities and National Police Gazette memorabilia.
