Antique Kyser & Rex “The Roller Safe” cast-iron coin bank, patented January 8, 1882.
This Victorian-era still bank features detailed raised scenes of children roller skating on its sides, decorative chain-pattern borders, four feet and a coin slot along the top. The underside retains its original patent marking.
Measures approximately 3¾″ tall × 2¾″ wide × 2⅞″ deep.
Good antique condition for its approximately 140-year age, with substantial finish and paint loss, oxidation, scratches, discoloration and general surface wear. The bottom plate/edge is bent and separated in one area and does not sit completely flush. The original key is not included, and the lock has not been tested. Please review all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
Sold as found and has not been cleaned, polished, repaired or restored. A rare piece for collectors of antique cast-iron banks, Victorian toys and roller-skating memorabilia.
