Antique Photograph of Mary Dorothy Monk with Two Bisque Dolls, c. Early 1900s
Offered here is a charming antique photograph of a young toddler girl, identified on the reverse in period ink as \"Mary Dorothy Monk, 19 months.\" She is photographed outdoors in an elaborate white lace dress, delightedly holding two large antique bisque dolls - one smaller doll tucked under one arm, and a second, larger doll with a dark mohair curled wig and floral dress held in front of her, nearly as large as she is.
The photograph is a larger-format \"real photo\" print (approximately 5.5 x 7 inches) mounted on a thick embossed cardboard mount, typical of the Edwardian era, circa the early 1900s. There is no photographer\'s studio imprint, but the named identification and noted age on the back add wonderful genealogical detail and context.
This is a delightful crossover piece for collectors of antique photography, genealogy/family history researchers, and especially collectors of antique bisque dolls, who often seek out period photographs showing dolls of this type and era as reference and display pieces.
Condition: Good condition for its age. The mount is sturdy with light edge wear, and the photographic image itself is clean, sharp, and well preserved. Please see the Condition Description above and all photos for full details.
