Antique 1908 NY Scrapbook Genealogy Newspaper Clippings Harding Family NY For Sale

A remarkable piece of upstate New York local history. This antique volume was repurposed as a personal scrapbook beginning March 23, 1908, and filled with newspaper clippings, handwritten genealogical records, and community ephemera. The front section is packed with obituaries, church and ministerial news, a Baptist ordination notice, family birth and death records for the Harding family (Waverly, NY area), and a complimentary stamp from William Elting Johnson, Senator, 38th District. Handwritten notes include Harding family genealogy dating to 1827.The underlying book is an annual report of the New York Agricultural Experiment Station, containing horticultural data, apple and pear variety reports, dairy fat tables, and botanical photographic plates from the 1890s–early 1900s.Structurally fragile — binding is split, spine is detached and fraying, many pages are loose or partially separated.
