Up for sale is a fantastic, highly collectible antique miniature pocket pistol novelty pencil sharpener, manufactured in Germany during the 1920s to 1930s.
Unlike most surviving examples of this desk novelty, this piece is 100% complete. It still retains its original removable silver-toned metal bottom cap containing the original, century-old rubber eraser block. The original metal jump ring on the bottom plug is intact, which historically allowed this novelty to be worn on a pocket watch chain or keychain.
Markings:
The textured grip panel cleanly features the stamped oval marking reading "GERMANY" alongside the mold number "1".
Condition Report (As-Is):
• Frame: The die-cast metal body is physically excellent with no cracks, breaks, or structural repairs. It features an authentic, aged green-gold finish showing expected paint thinning and surface wear from age.
• Mechanics: The pencil sharpening slot is located at the muzzle end of the barrel. The original steel blade and fastening screw are present. The blade exhibits heavy dark oxidation and surface rust consistent with its age, left entirely unpolished to preserve its historical patina.
• Plug & Eraser: The bottom insert pulls out cleanly. The original rubber insert is still present, showing expected hardening and discoloration from the past century.
Please study the photos closely to evaluate the exact condition for yourself. This is an exceptional, complete find for any collector of vintage stationery, antique toy guns, or German die-cast miniatures.
