I found this beautiful antique-style wedding portrait at an estate sale in West Warwick, Rhode Island. It is housed in a wooden oval frame with gold and brown tones. It appears that it is is the original vintage photograph displayed under non-glare/glare-resistant glass. This portrait has a soft, faded, almost translucent quality. It could be a hand-colored early photographic image.
On the back is a small piece of paper identifying the couple, it says "Photo of wedding approx. 1926 / Dolores Soucy Henault / Albert Henault". In my research, I found a reference to Dolores Soucy Henault and Albert Henault and a possible connection to the Catholic French-Canadian community in West Warwick, RI.
This portrait has a beautiful old world character and would be a nice addition for collectors of old photographs or New England history and genealogy. This piece has a 1920s aesthetic and will look stunning in an older home or an English country, French country, Victorian, cottage or traditional style home.
The portrait measures 13.5 inches wide by 16.5 inches tall. It is in an oval shape.
Condition: The photo and glass appears to be in good vintage condition. The frame has some hairline cracks and scratches but this does not seem to disturb the integrity of the frame. This frame includes a wire hanger on the back. Please see all images for details and measurements.
