Antique 1930s Aluminum Crumb Catcher Tray & Scraper Greek Key Art Deco Table Set For Sale

Beautiful vintage aluminum table crumb catcher and matching scraper set, dating approximately to the 1930s–1940s.This wonderful old dining accessory features an ornate embossed design with Greek-key borders, scrollwork, floral details and an elaborate decorative handle. The large tray was held at the edge of the table while the matching handheld crumber/scraper was used to sweep crumbs from the tablecloth or tabletop into it.Often referred to as a table crumber, crumb catcher or silent-butler-style dining accessory, pieces like this were particularly popular during the early-to-mid 20th century.The set has an attractive Art Deco/Art Nouveau-influenced design and displays beautifully. Both pieces show normal vintage use, including scratches, scuffs, oxidation/discoloration and surface wear. I have left the original aged finish intact rather than heavily polishing it.
