Beautiful antique 19th-century oil/fluid lamp featuring an unusual translucent milky jade-green glass font that fluoresces an exceptionally bright neon green under UV light.
The pressed glass has an elaborate molded form consisting of a domed reservoir, 12 projecting shoulder petals, 12 broad vertical panels, and multiple petal, faceted, and bead-form elements transitioning into the ribbed metal column. The lower decorative transition includes a 9-petal section, 6-facet center section, and an additional 9-bead/petal section.
The lamp is supported by a ribbed metal column and substantial square stone/marble base.
The overall form is consistent with mid-19th-century whale-oil/fluid lighting. The threaded brass collar bears worn patent-date markings from the 19th century and may represent a later modification or conversion of an earlier lamp. Because the exact glass manufacturer, pattern, and original burner configuration have not been definitively established, no specific maker attribution is being made.
Patent markings:
The upper marking appears to read PAT’D APR 19, 187_, with the final digit difficult to determine. A second marking appears to read MAR 21 or MAR 27, 1876. Please refer to the close-up photographs and determine the markings for yourself.
The lamp does not include a burner, wick mechanism, chimney, or shade and is being sold exactly as pictured.

The green glass displays a dramatic neon-green fluorescence under UV light. Both normal-light and UV photographs are included.
Condition:
Very good antique condition considering its age. No visible chips or cracks were observed in the green glass. The metal components show expected age-related patina, oxidation, discoloration, and surface wear. The stone/marble base has staining, scratches, marks, and other wear consistent with age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
