Item Description:
Up for sale is an antique 19th-century military short sword, likely an infantry hanger or militia-pattern short saber/artillery sidearm.
Key Features:
Hilt & Guard: Features a sturdy, solid iron D-guard with a ribbed grip.
Scabbard: Comes complete with its original matching metal scabbard, which fits the blade nicely.
Condition: Offered strictly in uncleaned, \"as-found\" condition, perfect for collectors who prefer absolute historical integrity or those looking for a restoration project.
Markings: Due to the heavy, uncleaned patina, the ricasso has not been closely inspected or cleared to reveal potential maker\'s marks or arsenal stamps.
