A fine example of Civil War-era, handblown apothecary vials. One of the only lasting examples with the actual word “opium” embossed on it. Showcases an open pontil scar, flared lip, original cork stopper, & a light aqua-tint body with nice whittle throughout.
•Circa mid 19th century, 1840-1860
•in good antique condition; glass shows some minor grit & wear inside around embossment but that can be likely removed upon request. Cork is likely original to the bottle as it has understandably lost elasticity & dried out.
