Antique wooden bentwood horse stirrup with iron reinforcement mounts, believed to date to the 19th century.
This is a wonderful primitive equestrian piece with a heavily aged, untouched appearance. It features bentwood construction with distinctive crescent-shaped iron reinforcement plates on both sides and substantial wear consistent with many years of use.
The wood has developed a rich natural patina with visible grain, cracking, splitting, edge losses and considerable wear, particularly around the bottom/tread. The iron hardware has heavy natural oxidation and surface rust.

* Depth: approximately 4 3/8”
The exact maker, geographic origin and date are unknown. Based on its construction and appearance, it is believed to be a 19th-century example, but it has not been professionally authenticated.
Condition: Very worn antique condition with cracking, splits, losses, weathering, oxidation and other signs of considerable age and use. No cleaning or restoration has been attempted. Please review all photographs closely for condition and details.
