Antique 19th Century Primitive Wooden Interlocking Brick Butter Mold — Hand-Carved Double Print (Wheat & Floral)Up for sale is a beautiful piece of authentic Early American kitchen history: a primitive, hand-made wooden folding brick butter mold dating back to the 19th century.This is a wonderful one-pound brick capacity piece measuring approximately 6” x 3.25”.Design & Mechanics:• Double Pattern Base: The interior bottom of the mold features sharp, deeply carved folk art prints split into two separate panels. One side depicts a traditional sheaf of wheat (the classic symbol of agricultural bounty), and the other features a detailed floral / leaf branch.• Interlocking Construction: Built to withstand the compression of pressing butter, the rectangular box utilizes fine antique corner finger/dovetail joints.• Original Hardware: Features its original front brass hook latch mechanism. When unhooked, the interlocking sides separate smoothly, allowing a perfectly stamped block of butter to release without ruining the design.Condition:Excellent antique condition with a gorgeous, warm, honey-colored natural wood patina.
