Antique hand-painted Bavarian porcelain berry set, dated 1919, featuring one large 10.25-inch master bowl and six individual 5.5-inch bowls — seven pieces total, all matching. The decoration is a naturalistic blackberry motif with lush green leaves, clusters of deep purple berries, and trailing vines painted against a warm cream ground with soft peach and amber shading. A fine gold rim traces each piece. The porcelain is luminous, the painting confident and fluid — this is the work of a skilled decorator, not a transfer print.
The underside of the master bowl reads: "To Mary and Jack, From Cousin Frances, 1919." This set came directly from the estate of a 91-year-old woman, and it is entirely possible this bowl never left a single family's hands in all that time. The backstamp is a crowned monogram mark with "Bavaria" below, consistent with early 20th century German export porcelain.
All seven pieces are in excellent antique condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs observed. Minor crazing consistent with age. Normal variation in glaze coverage across the individual bowls is characteristic of hand-painted work from this period.
