Antique French Brass Chamberstick Pair Dolphin Handles 19th Century Candlesticks For Sale

Beautiful matched pair of antique brass chambersticks featuring sculptural dolphin-form handles, ornate floral and foliate relief decoration, raised candle sockets and substantial square footed bases.A matching example has been catalogued by Albion Antique sale Centre as a French brass candlestick. Based on the design, construction and comparable examples, these appear consistent with late 19th-century French/Continental manufacture. No maker’s mark has been identified.Each chamberstick measures approximately 4¾–5” high, with a base approximately 4¾–5” square and an overall width of approximately 6” including the dolphin handle.Both retain their aged brass finish and show patina, oxidation, verdigris, discoloration, surface wear and residue consistent with age and use. They have not been polished.
