Antique French Empire Chariot Mantel Clock c1850 Bronze Ebonized Horses 8-Day For Sale

Ornate bronze ebonized mantel clock is designed in the French Empire style. This piece has a black marble base with decorative gold-toned feet. The clock dial is integrated into the wheel of a chariot pulled by two dark-patinated horses. A winged cherub figure stands atop the chariot holding a torch and reins. The clock dial has Roman numerals and a visible internal movement through the center. A bronze gild dragon figure is mounted on the rear of the chariot. The overall bronze work is excellent as well as condition. The movement is a French 8 day skeletonized time and strike on bell. Circa 1850. H 16” W 19” D 6”
