This is a fabulous piece of antique (c1890-1910 French floral fabric, likely roller printed. The deep burgundy background features a symetrical floral arrangement bursting from an ornate neo-classical urn.
I am an avid collector of vintage and antique French fabrics and it's always slightly hard to part with these historic treasures. Fabulous as pillow covers, small upholstery projects or as some of my customers have shared, part of a slow stitch or journal creation.
This is unwashed in as-found condition.It can be used as a textile study, in a slow stitching project, or framed. There are definite signs of age including holes, typical for it's age. It measures approximately 12x13.5"

About Wildflower Studio: Welcome to Wildflower Studio, where you'll find vintage and collectible treasures, beautiful fabrics and embellishments, charming home decor pieces and a menagerie of other items I have collected during my treasure hunting trips. Having grown up on a farm in the Midwest, I'm drawn to simple and natural items - I do love the worn and tattered look of old linens. I wonder what their story is and how I would use it - probably in some sort of sewing project. Copies of pages from her Bible are on the back of some of my studio tags, complete with her notes and underlines; and pages from a beloved hymnal are a frequent addition to my packages.
